Rah Rah Roma Ma
I love Rome! I really do. I lived here for a semester when I was in college. My time here with UD was amazing. I got to really live what I was learning, travel with wonderful people, and form memories that I will hold dear all of my life. I cannot believe that I am living in the Eternal City, again so many years later.
Obviously Rome has not changed much (the Metro is nicer now), but this experience is so much different than my time here in the spring of 2003. When I was here in college I lived in a villa with 110 of my friends, now I live in an apartment with a family I had not met before I moved here. Thankfully, the family is great, but that was definitely a gamble. Also, this time I have a lot more free time since I dont have to go to class or study. I watch the kids for a few hours a week and am free to explore for the rest of the time.
Since the only people I know in Rome are the family I live with, and some friends from college who are monks, I usually embark on the city alone. Its really fun, and I have been able to meet a lot of cool people. I kind of feel like I am in Fight Club with all the "single serving friends" I have been meeting lately. I cant complain though.
Thats all for now.
